Crabfest! Fishex.com

Earlier this week I decided to try something a little different. I ordered crab online from a company in Alaska (fishex.com) that supposedly gets its crab from the Time Bandit fishing vessel. This is the same Time Bandit that is featured in the show Deadliest Catch (http://www.timebandit.tv/). I was a bit hesitant at first to purchase perishable food online but thought the risk would be worth it. Plus it is freezing so I figured that the chance of spoiling would be slim to none.

The three pounds of Alaska Red King Crab legs came wrapped neatly in a styrofoam box packed with dry ice (which had evaporated by the time I opened the box). We steamed the crab for about 6 minuets. It came out delicious. The quality was better than other crab I had purchased at Whole Foods or Treasure Island. It probably has something to do with the fact that the crab was not frozen and very fresh. I highly recommend.. Two thumbs up. Here is a link to what I purchased http://backwardation25.blogspot.com/2010/02/crabfest-fishexcom.html .
